Houston ISD welcomes parents, guardians, community members, and professionals who want to give their time and talents to support our students and schools. Whether you're mentoring, assisting in classrooms, helping at events, or supporting special programs like Harper DAEP High School, your involvement matters.
How to Get Started:
To ensure the safety of all HISD students, all volunteers must complete an annual registration and background check before participating in any campus activities.
Steps to Register:

Submit a Volunteer Registration Form through the official HISD volunteer portal

Complete a Background Check (processed by HISD at no cost to you)

Wait for Approval – You’ll be notified once you’re cleared to volunteer

Get Involved – Work directly with a campus of your choice and start making an impact!
Note: Registration must be renewed every school year.
